About Kixup Repairs

We are a small phone and tablet repair shop based on West Street in Mount Isa. We repair devices from all around Australia, servicing Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG, Nokia and many more. We also have a retail range of products sold both in-store and online including cases, accessories and speakers.

Kixup Repairs was recently named the fastest growing business under 10 employees in the North West region, so we are looking for someone that can keep pace in a busy environment.

About the Role

As a Retail Assistant at Kixup Repairs you will primarily be looking after device intake and retailing. This involves taking payments, cross selling cases/accessories, and testing devices. This role is initially a Christmas Casual role (10 - 30 hours/week) starting towards the end of November until mid to end of January. This could evolve into a longer term role for the right person, with potential to grow into a repair technician.


  • Phone/tablet repair intake - gathering all customers details, along with details of the device and as much information about the problems as possible. This also includes testing the device with customer present and getting their sign off to go ahead with the repair.
  • Retailing - Offering customers cases and other accessories that are going to help the customer and be relevant for them.
  • Supporting Technicians - this involves helping the technicians wherever they need.
  • General front of shop tasks - Making sure that the front of shop is kept tidy and clean at all times. Duties include sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows, tidying retail displays, retail stocktake etc.
  • Prepare online orders - preparing and packing online orders for speakers and accessories.

Who we are looking for:

  • Have a love of technology - you must get excited about new technology and love learning about it. You should also be keeping up with what’s coming out soon with release dates and key features.
  • Be familiar with iOS/Android - you must be familiar with either iOS or Android (bonus points for both). This is required to be able to provide customers with help answering their questions.
  • Confident and friendly - be able to hold a conversation with someone, and be confident in your abilities and your knowledge.
  • Proactive and self starter - you must always be looking to keep busy, and have initiative to complete tasks without being asked or followed up.
